I was contacted by German director Julia von Heinz to create a devilish baby for her film „Katharina Luther“. This newborn was predicted by the church to be the fruit of Katharina von Bora’s and Martin Luther’s fornication. Therefore I designed a baby which should be reminiscent of Hieronymus Bosch’s visions and had to be depicted as a wood engraving as well. The life-size puppet and its animated CGI-head, provided by ARRI Media, was based on these drawings – and I think it successfully turned out to be rather scary and nightmarish. Well done!
